The Global Water Partnership (GWP)

In 1996, an international consensus-seeking body, the Global Water Partnership, was founded, bringing together a network of organisations involved in water resources management. The body works toward five objectives: clarifying the principles of sustainable water resource management, identifying gaps and encouraging the relevant partners to meet essential needs, supporting action at a variety of scales, helping bring resources and means into balance, reinforcing information and experience-sharing initiatives. France focuses its cooperation actions in areas where its activities are well-known and recognised and can offer real added value. Its efforts aim to combine ambition, pragmatism and equity.
